Jakarta Provincial Government is going to expand the use of parking meter machines in the capital. As many as 100 machines which called as Terminal Electronic Parking (TPE) will also be installed on Jl Boulevard Raya, Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta, after the first machine was installed on Jl Agus Salim (Sabang) Central Jakarta.

We have started the socialization as well as collecting data for the parking attendants

Head of Parking Management Unit for Jakarta Transportation Department, Sunardi Sinaga said, the 100 parking meter machines will be installed by the end of January along Jalan Boulevard Raya which has high intensity parking and sufficient road.

"We have started the socialization as well as collecting data for the parking attendants. They will get the ID card," he said, Saturday (1/10).

During this time, added Sinaga, the parking revenue on Jalan Boulevard was only Rp 8 million per day. According to the analysis, it should reach Rp 150 million.

"The electronic card that will be used as payment, is launched on January 27," he added.

At this moment, his side is coordinating with the State Electricity Company (PLN) to smooth the CCTV operation in each machine. The CCTV is installed to monitor the machine.

"Each machine uses solar cell. It's impossible if the CCTV use the same energy source. There must be a special electricity source for the camera," he uttered.
